Does having an HDMI cable or not make for a better HD or 4k PQ experience? I was thinking about that because once streaming Internet TV does ever take off I wonder if it would be cool just to have the latest modem and the latest smart TV's and that's it. Unless you want to video game or play BluRay movies?

I am pretty sure that HDMI is required for 4K that isn't an app on your TV. Component only does up to 2-D 1080p to my knowledge and understanding. HDMI does audio, too, while component doesn't.
