We have been repainting our house room by room this spring. I thought that I

would impress my wife and neaten up and hide some of my satellite wires. :)

I was drilling holes from my attic down into the wall for coax yesterday.

After I pulled the drill out of the second hole I saw light!

What ended up happening was the first hole went right behind the drywall

and kind of cracked and pulled the drywall away. The second hole pierced

right through the ceiling of the living room!!!...

She was not too impressed!

I have drilled in the same manner before but never missed my intended destination!

It looks like I just added another honey-do job to my already huge job jar and again

delayed my latest reincarnation of my entertainment center!!!... :facepalm

I hate when that happens.

If you make your entertainment center tall enough it will cover up your boo-boo.

I ran that idea passed her and she says as long as it is neat!

I thought that it would be great to have a whole wall of satellite equipment!!!...

uh oh...thank goodness I have a drop ceiling in the basement. Run all the cables in there and then drill a hole in the living room floor to pull them up :)

I hear you Ice!

But I have cables running from the attic and cables from the basement!

The OTA coax and rotor cable, CAT5 for Netflix and coax for QAM come from above.

The satellite ribbon cable and coax for whole house distibution are from below.

The surround speaker wires also go up but I am scratching on putting up a in wall

subwoofer. :coffee

You can hang a plant from the hole in the ceiling it wasn't a mistake is was a creative idea.

Or its a new light fixture you can tell your wife your plaining ahead its not a screwup. Also think of the Red Green show Red calls its PR or you can call it BS.

Uh oh.... I forgot about that!

maybe he can "borrow" something from his neighbor to hide the hole!:D:D

I am not sure how many "wheelborrows" of dirt it will take to fill my living room!

But dude I have cats!!!...

What i usually do when drilling a hole between wall, floors etc is use a very small drill bit so if i goof only a small hole shows up.I stick a straightened out wire coat hanger threw the hole for visibility.
