I had to change my modem yesterday and have smaller cable boxes connected to my other TV's that use to have just the cable going to. Now I have my own router but the Spectrum apps are stating I am not at home etc. It seems something is not being recognized perhaps the new modem. I did wonder what I should do other than calling them. Is it possible a customer must have the Spectrum router and pay $5.83 a month in order to use the apps? I have my own router. Thanks.

No, it works for me with their modem, and my router. After you changed out your modem, did you then also power cycle your router?

If not, unplug the ethernet cable between the modem and the router. Unplug the router and the modem from their power cords and wait at least a few minutes. Then just plug in the MODEMS power cord, and let it boot all the way up. Now plug the ethernet cable from the router back into the modem, and then the power cord back into the router and let it boot up fully.

Test again, and see what happens now.
