I have researched the list and believe I have found the spotbeam that provides the strongest signal. I live in South Western, IN and have no local HD. It looks like SB 30 (St. Louis & Terre Haute) covers this area the best. Of course with St. Louis having more locals I would "move" there, but want to make sure I understand everything correct first.

On the point Dish with Satellite 129 & Transponder 10 I get a signal of 39 (see image below). If everything checks out, will I be OK to "move" into the St Louis DMA and get their HD locals? Also, will I still get OTA channels with guide information as well?

Yes, 39 will get you a picture. You might lose them in rain and bad weather, however.

You will get any guide information for the channels you end up subscribing too. If you "move" to STL, you will get HD channels 2, 4, 5, and 30.

Thanks everyone. I know 39 isn't too bad because that is higher than we got on any TP before Ciel II was put up. Now everything else is around 45-50.

So even if I "live" in St. Louis and get the HD locals via Sat. I can still use my OTA antenna and obtain the local guide info?

I should get HD channel 11 for CW. At least according to the list.
