Spotbeams

I've been getting NYC locals ever since "moving". This got me thinking about spotbeams. Why do some markets not use them? Is there any danger or these markets eventually chaning to spotbeams? I'm loving the move so far (61.5), but worried a spotbeam may force me back.

Thats why I thought... but if they were so concerned abotu this, why doesnt every market have them? Does anyone think this will be expanded in the future?

Part of NY is on spotbeam, I don't think the rest will be as Dish has to keep something available for the RV'ers.

i just wish there was a trick for us who is right on the line of a spotbeam to get whats available next door to our regular spotbeams!

There's a few markets of SD in Conus mode on 110/119. Without digging through DishChannelChart.com I believe Denver and Chicago are two that come to mind. Maybe NY and of course the SD distants.
