I have a DSR505 that is using a Quad 75E LNBF. During the past couple of weeks I have been losing satellite reception. When I un-connect and re-connect the coaxial cable to the LNBF I get reception again.

I had the power checked on the cable going from the receiver to the LNBF and it show excellant readings. I did a master reset of the receiver and that did not solve the problem.

Is this symptomatic of a failing LNBF? When I re-connect the coaxial cable to the LNBF the reception last about 3-4 days.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Check power levels indoors on both satellites (get dB reading on channel
265 for Anik F2 and channel 354 for Anik F1R, using Options 647 command) Compare with reading at the dish if possible, by bring the receiver and a TV set out there to check numbers at the dish, before your cable run.
It's either an alignment issue (assuming low readings outdoors) or a coaxial cable/connector problem if indoor levels are much less.
Check those numbers and do the math. Good luck!
