Starchoice 505HD - Checking E2 signal

Hey folks,

Read the manual and fished the forum archives, but I still don't know how to check my signal strength on Anik E2. Using a 75E Starchoice Dish with a 505HD receiver.

Directions just tell you to go to Channel 299 and check strength... Sat shows up as "E4" ... which is really Anik F1 per earlier posts. Noting in the "official" manual says how to specifically check signal strength on Anik E2.

Other system menus indicate "Receiver 1" has 77 Signal Strength with EBNO of +8.1 db. The "Receiver 2" part is greyed out. Does this only become available after activating the receiver?

Also noticed I can't seem to get the Channel Guide to come up, but can manually browse up and down channels. Don't actually receive them yet, but channel logos show up, and I do get a couple Pay Per View preview channels.

Star Choice does not use Anik E2, though they did many years ago. F2 is the other satellite. You can check your F2 signal buy tuning to an HD channel or most French channels.
I believe you mean that tuner 2 is grayed out, and it will stay that way. The 505 is a single tuner. If you had a 530, which is a dual tuner, then tuner 2 will show a signal.
