After my recent travel adventure swapping from western and eastern LNBs I'm thinking I need a better understanding of the steps involved in making the swap.

At what point do you run the check switch? As soon as you make the physical swap? After you get signals on the swapped out LNBs?

If you can, think through what you do first, second, third, etc.

Thanks!

After I do the physical swap, I hook up my meter and dial the dish in to the new arc. Once I'm dialed in and the meter is unhooked, then I run a switch test with my HWS. I haven't needed to run a test with no LNB connected in several years due to switching LNB's.

So:
1. Swap LNB's
2. Aim Dish, receiver shows lock
3. Run Check switch

If no lock, clear check switch, run again

Is that basically it?
