Having a live-in relationship with someone almost half his age is certainly not the smartest thing to do...especially when you're married.Apparently McNair was the victim of a murder-suicide:
I feel so badly for his wife, kids, and his family. All of this being played out in public must make it even worse than we could imagine on them. What a shocking story to learn about your spouse or father and what a horrible way to say goodbye.
This is another example of why I try to teach my kids that "hero worshiping" of athletes, actors, politicians, or other celebrities is not a good thing. After all, they are just people who have warts, faults, and are no different than anyone else they know personally and that they might face disappointment from them sometime in their life. Steve McNair was a good football player and a role model in that aspect. However, but he was only a man and nothing more.
Just remember, kids:
No piece of #@#%@#%# is worth it, no matter what "it" is
Not according to the friend who called 911:I heard that he was in the process of getting a divorce.
Interviews with friends revealed that she was making payments on two cars, her rent was doubling and she suspected the married McNair was having a second affair with another young woman.
