WCPO CINCINNATI CHANNEL 9 SAYS: NO WEATHER FOR YOU! AND STOP LIVING WELL.
As expected... This morning Cincinnati lost the last over the air 24 hour weather channel. WCPO 9 removed their Radar channel on 9.2 and replaced it "Escape", a channel aimed at women age 18-34 with a full schedule of what the TV show South Park calls "Murder Porn". Right now it's broadcasting at 4x3 48oi standard definition.
Channel 9.3 became "LAFF" as expected. Live Well Network ceased operations on schedule. LAFF is a channel dedicated to comedy. The schedule has such "classics" as Life Goes On, Drew Carey Show and Spin City. It also features plenty of comedy movies. Channel 9 is broadcasting this channel in 9x16 "stretch-o-matic" standard definition ensuring I will never watch it.

No Laffing for us in Tulsa. I thought Scripps was going to put LAFF up in place of LWN, but we got Bounce on KJRH 2.2 instead. It is 4x3 and PSIP has guide info, but Dish and Tivo are both still showing LWN

I like GRIT,no use for ESCAPE, but they are both being mutilated by either Katz or Cox the local affiliate owner. I think it is Cox doing the stretching, both are being sent out as 16x9. I have heard the engineers with Katz saying half their affiliates are stretching everything to 16x9 and the other half are 4x3.

Well damn, not what I wanted to see. KJRH is going to add a 2nd subchannel for LAFF on 2.3. I don't mind 2 subs on the 720p channels, but I don't care for it on the 1080i channels.

Just did a rescan... WHIO channel 7 Dayton added another sub-channel 7.3 now has LAFF in 4x3 SD, so I may actually be able to watch this channel from time to time.

Presuming they were seeing similar numbers that WHIO was seeing with their weather sub-channel, it was done because literally no one watched. On their Facebook page, they weren't afraid to tell people that were complaining about it being dropped that that was the reason.

I saw LAFF mentioned on a billboard for WHIO but never bothered to do a re-scan for it.

I guess I qualify as no one. I tuned into it for 5-10 minutes every single day while I was getting ready for work, and sometimes at night before I went to bed. I don't want anything special, just a radar image and NOAA radio like they used to have before the "WeatherTracker" crap.

At one time Live Well was reportedly going off in Nashville on April 15, but it's still on the air. The word is WKRN is waiting for corporate to make up their mind when to make the switch. The last we heard was maybe by the end of the month. I don't know when Live Well will officially end broadcasting, soon I hope.

You should see our local broadcast of "GetTv". It's letterboxed into a 4x3 tiny box, and so far they haven't figured it out. It's been months now...

I have to use the tv's controls to stretch it.

One of the sub-channels we get is probably similar. It ends up taking up about 1/4 of the TV screen ! I can't do anything to it though as far as changing the picture size.

To me look like they rerun all the show to death that is until people get tired of what they going to do that second channel here in SO CAL

I had no idea Laff was coming to this neck of the woods (Hartford) until I saw a movie scheduled for the WFSB weather channel. I might be more inclined to tune in (but probably not).
