Ok.. on ESPN2 right now, they have on the National Scrabble Association's 2008 National School Scrabble Championship. Now... I understand that ESPN, especially ESPN2 has a lot of time to fill and needs programming, but does SCRABBLE really count as a sport? Maybe as a competition, but aside from that, what are the strangest things you've seen covered like a "sport" or "competition" on ESPN or even any sports network? I thought the spelling bee was the top, but now we have a new winner.

I you are considering what others actually call a "sport", then I think curling is right up there...!

Back in the day, Australian rules football was a staple on ESPN.

Don't blame him. I believe it is illegal for a single sentence to contain "ice hockey" and "Boston Bruins". :)

You poeple all are forgetting what ESPN stands for, sure most think about Sports first, but is is actually E : Entertainment and S : Sports P :Programming N: Network

Spelling Bee and Scrabble would be under the Entertainment side of things, not Sports.

That said, they do a poor job of Entertainment.
