Streaming as expensive as cable / satellite now?

Now they keep asking me if i want to leave while there shoving starlink down my throat. I laugh my ass off when they tell me the pricing and tell the reps that i don't support elon :biggrin. That stops the convo real fast and the rep has no idea what to say LOL.
My brother loves Starlink. He only had access to crappy DSL before that.

I have alot of options in my area hell isp's are cut throating each other!!! been eyeing a 7gig fiber conn for 29.99 a month.
WOW! That's a lot of pipe for not much money. I have fiber pulled to an underground distribution box in front of my house. But it's not lit up yet. I can't wait to kick Centurylink to the curb.

Too bad you can't see the Prints, so you can figure out what route that line will actually take to get to your house ...

Is your service come from the front or back of your yard ?

Yep that's alot of pipe bang for the buck!!! sunday tickets even free with it!!! I hear century link sucks!!!

Thats a Pretty Broad brush your using ...
Like Most companies, it all depends on Where you are at, I'm going to say not All Century Link are that way.
True. Overall I've been satisfied with Centurylink at my house. It's just that they are no longer upgrading their equipment. At least the phone line (POTS) delivery network. My brother lives in a rural mountain location about 20 miles from the nearest town. His DSL and landline phone were always going out. With Starlink he has solid internet and WiFi calling if needed.

I would hope so, different technology entirely.
DSL runs on Land lines, so when you had issues with your phone, you usually had issues with your DSL as well.

Starlink would lose internet and phone as well, if someone took them out.
Seeing thats not on the ground, it's less likely to happen ... then again if someone gets pissed enough with Elon, ya never know. :eeek 😢

You were paying a lot more to Dish than that Fubo price.
For me, the top Dish package (which unfortunately is the only one that has the two MTV channels that actually play MUSIC) is fully DOUBLE the price of Fubo, AND with Fubo I'd be getting my RSN too. But someone doesn't want to give up the years of stuff she has stored on the Dish DVR...

When you factor in broadband...its way way way more expensive than cable
Some of us WANT broadband though, streaming TV or not. Just because I have a smartphone doesn't mean I'm ever going to use it as my primary Internet access. I can't stand typing on a tiny keyboard and scrolling and squinting to read a tiny screen.

For what it's worth, I'm told that Comcast doesn't have ETFs anymore for anyone. They must really be getting desperate for subs.

Competition is hot in major metro areas. Fiber is coming in- TMO, Spectrum, others. AFAIK Comcast can't do symmetrical fiber here. Top upload speeds available are 200mpbs.

Unfortunately it won't hurt Elon, someone else will take up the slack. Hell, I know someone who switched from DirecTV and the local telco to Dish and Starlink BECAUSE he's a raging right-winger. (Direct dropped one of his cult news channels, for purely financial reasons...)

It is very hard to beat Echostar Dish. Streaming is okay but you cannot channel surf in seconds like Dish. Only paying $103 with Americas 250 with NFL Redzone. They want keep old customer since 1998 like me so they will lower price. Directv dont carry OAN news very conservative news channel. Dish americas 250 have all the news channels. My google streamer connected to my plasma TV. streaming works good.
