Summer is the best time of year to get distant channels, am I right or mistaken?

Just wanted to check on this. I seem to believe I remember this, but I may be mistaken. For example, I believe I got KARE 11 in the summer months, but not winter. But I recently replaced my rotor so I thought I'd check.
