This is just a snippet from the DIRECTV website, dated 1/3/24. Seems like a back-door way to make an announcement, but if it is true ..... :)

Looks like the College Championship game on Monday night WILL also be on Directv in 4K :)
Channel 105
One camera only, Skycam.

Really, where did you find that info ?

They did that Last year as well ...
WHY would they do such a stupid thing, why not the National Feed ?
ESPN will offer a 4K feed of college football’s championship game between Washington and Michigan. The game, which will be played on Monday, January 8, at 7:30 p.m. ET, will be available in Skycam 4K, which is a single camera system suspended over the field and controlled by a computer.

It's in the info graphic for their megacast announcement.

ESPN's 4K productions are still bare bones. Most of them are either specific 4K camera feeds, or just a raw production truck feed that has no breaks, bottom line or in studio highlights.

honestly, if every game was raw production truck feed, I would 100% drop extra money.

FOX Sports 4K was like that initally too, but now their 4K telecasts contain the same ads, promos, overlayed graphics and studio highlights you get on FOX or FS1.

Eventually ESPN will upgrade their production and control facilities to support inserted content on their 4K feed as they will need it to show the same ads as their main feed by the time ABC returns to the Super Bowl rotation in 2027.

You would Miss Way too much of the game with Only that 1 camera.

I would LIKE the NO Breaks, no Bottom Line.
the raw feed is not just one camera. you're confusing it with the ESPN 4k feed which is just that one skycam, but most raw feeds are what you see on tv, just with less fluff and you get to see the in-game/sideline action instead of commercials.

NBA LP is a great example of this. For out of market games, you get to see all the in-arena content like kiss cams and halftime acts.

It is confirmed, but there is a catch-

Update: A CBS spokesman has confirmed to The TV Answer Man that the 4K feed will be upscaled from a 1080p HD broadcast.

So, its no different than Fox ???

Unfortunately, keep waiting for the day we will get a game filmed with 4K Cameras and HDR.

well, i imagine it would be better because Fox broadcasts in 720p and the step up from 1080p is theoretically smaller?
Except the NzFL games on CBS are already in 1080P on Paramount+, up converting will provide some better resolution, but HDR is where most of the improvements should be for the picture quality.
