Last year I was able to buy a kit converting a super dish to the western arc, of 110, 119, and 129 sats. It came with a bracket and 3 LNBS, Now I would like to convert this same super dish to receive the Eastern arc 0f 61.5, 72, and 77 sats. does any one know of a conversion kit ?

Thanks !

i have heard of it as being refered to as a 1005 dish. i have heard that repoint kits were going to be made, but i personally have not seen any.

Did you mean a 1000.5? If you did a 1000.5 is just a 1000.4 with a 500+ Pan, making the signal a bit stronger!

eastern arc conversion

It is marked super dish on the reflector, which is much larger then, say a 500, I think the super dish was made to pick up110, 119, 118 and possiblely one more sat. i was able to obtain a conversion bracket with LNBs converting it to the western arc,The angle between sat 129 and 119 is 10 degrees,on the western arc, the angle between sats 61.5 and 72.7 is 11.2 degrees, I need a bracket to widen the space between these lnbs from 10 degrees to 11.2 degrees and to widen the space from the 72.7 degree sat to 4.3 degrees to also receive the 77 degree sat. so I can receive all three sats. I want the eastern arc because I haved "moved", and am at the fringe for receiving chicago chennels on the Western arc. The eastern arc gives much more signal strenght with no fad outs.

You do realize that unless the Chicago locals are on one the the EA birds you still won't get them. Even if they are there is still a very good chance you would be on the edge of that spot beam as well, and still won't get them.

First question, was this a 105 SuperDish or 121?
Second question, is it metal or fiberglass?

If your SuperDish was for 105 and metal then you may be in luck. The Type I SD was metal and is the same size as the 500+ reflector. I am attempting the same thing as you. Just haven't had time to try it yet. I purchased a 1000.4 LNB and 1000.4 bracket from ebay. I am told that the 1000.4 arm is 19" long and the LNB should be 22" from the dish. Good luck and let us know how it works.
