Got the call from "Sal" of Dish Network on Thursday July 6. He offered to upgrade my 942 to a VIP 622 and told me that first available install was Sunday July 9 from 12-5 PM! Looked like the monthly cost would be the almost same as I was paying before and with the rebate there would be no net hardware cost increase. So I said yes. I had America's 180 with the HD Pak and upgraded to Platinum.
Other than the installer not showing up until 6:15 PM, the installation went very smoothly and so far no problems to report. In my original setup I had a Super Dish and a Dish 500. Both are gone now replaced by a single Dish 1000.
Dish is supposed to send me a box to return the 942 for a $100 credit.
