I think James Gunn's days at WB are numbered.

His efforts are the best outside of Nolan and Burton. Superman wasn't good but it didn't suck. You can only do so much to make DC characters good.

WE saw it opening weekend. There were empty seats all over the theater.

This movie couldn't make up its mind if it was going for the Star Wars Bar scene with all the different alien species or if it was a teenager comedy movie with a Nasty young woman who partied her way across the galaxy.

The fact she actually ended an enemy was a new one for me as well. Even Superman never intentionally killed an enemy and relied on law enforcement to take custody of them.

Also the movie dealt with human trafficking and a family was killed one member after the other. Not a good movie for a kid or even teen to go see.

I didn't like the girl who played her either. I didn't think she was pretty at all. She kind of rubbed me the wrong way. But we did get more details about Krypton's destruction and the domed city of Argo and how Krypto got his start.

But this version of Supergirl will be just like the first movie in the 80s about Supergirl: One and done.

I thought Milly was good as Kara/Supergirl especially for the comic it was based off of. Overall I give the movie a B. I enjoyed it more than Superman but that's not saying much.
