If you have 1 slimline and 1 18" dish(sd locals) feeding 1 HR20, what switch would you need?

You would need either a Zinwell WB68 or WB16.

Quick question. Does this still apply if you only have a 5lnb and not a wing?

Nope. Without the wing, there is no need to use the flexport on the multiswitch.
