After painstakingly troubleshooting why none of my receivers would see the satellites I finally got the SWM-8 successfully installed.

Once I had everything connected properly it took it a good 10-20 min for the switch to see the satellites.

I did notice that the only way for this to work was to connect the power inserter in the attic where the SMW is. Is this going to be okay? We live in the Dallas area and during the summer it can get hot up there. I tried connecting it in the same room as the HR21 but it would never see the satellites.

Have you attempted to reset the receivers? I have the SWM LNB setup and I know my receivers wouldn't see the SWM until I reset each receiver. Also, make sure you have the BBC's removed and the coax line is connect to line 1 of the receiver.

Make sure you have the PI connected to the power passing port of the splitter. If you have the DirecTV approved SWS splitter it will be marked as red.

If at all possible I think it would be better to keep the PI where it is cool. I am always worried about fires though.

My PI has been in my attic for 3 weeks now and its been fairly warm. I think its rated at 125 degrees, but Im not worried about it. I plan to pick up a spare soon.

I get ESPNHD on ch73 but not ch206. HBO on 70 but not 501...

Anyone been able to compare Vudu and DOD/PPV HD PQ?
