Is tilt required with the SWM one LNB antenna to receive the 99 and 103 sats?

Have 195 strenth on 101 using birdog after fine tuning per antenna instructions. Changed the tilt and got no change in signal strenth. Haven't received HD DVR yet so can't use receiver for look angle or picture. Just trying to be ahead of the game....CM

Yes, you need the tilt in order to receive 99 and 103. Tilting the dish won't affect 101 as it is pointed directly at the sat. You need the HD receiver to finish the alignment. Setting the tilt for your location will get you very close.

Where do I get the alignment for zip 15147 except on receiver for SWM. I did check one site and used multisat the 99, 101 and 103 and it said tilt 108. Got no signal degradation. CM

Thanks for the info. I went to the very helpful site and got everything I need.

Another thing I don't know is if you are using the SWN antenna with the 21 v power supply and since the receiver has power going out to the antenna, then what prevents a short or does the power supply for the SWM have a AC/DC block?

I haven't opened up my PI to look, but I'm sure there is a DC block. Perhaps when the receiver senses there is a SWM, it no longer sends out the normal voltages.

Thank You Sir you were very helpful. Now all I have to do is wait for Direct to send out either the installer or the equipment and I am set to go. New 52" is to be delivered next week. Happy day. CM
