Is there a way to determine if the LNB's on my slimline antenna have SWM?

Sure. The easiest way to tell is to push the - button on the remote. If you have a swm setup it will say so on screen.

That won't work for me as I have an old external swm 16 in line, so my setup shows that I have swm.

If you have an external SWM switch you would have to have a regular LNB with 4 outputs, or it wouldn't work.
