we vacation about a month during the summer in Mexico. I want to take my directv with me but leave one at home also for my oldest who stays. Which receiver do I take with me...if possible to do that? Do I need the main one or an extra that I have in other rooms?

This is a question best asked in the DIRECTV forums but the short answer is that unless you're talking about Northern Mexico, DIRECTV typically won't work down there with conventional DIRECTV US dishes. The signals from the satellites don't reach that far south so for a more precise answer, a more specific geographical location must be offered.

The terms of service specifically prohibit using the service both at home and on the road at the same time.

Also need to know what recvrs your dealing with to give you an accurate answer ...
Arte you setting up another dish, make it a SWM slimline, that will cover all set ups.
