Cable industry hopes so

Washington State is considering an 8% tax on satellite TV services at the behest of the cable industry, indicates the Sky Report. DirecTV and Dish Network not long ago launched a website dedicated to opposing such cable-sponsored bills being proposed in a number of states. Psst- cable industry: want to keep people from fleeing to satellite? Stop raising rates so quickly.


Moreover, the legislature wants to tax premium channels (HBO, etc.) at 8.5%.

I wish the session would just adjourn...

Ya I heard about this, I just switched to Dish and this wasn't what I want to hear.

I know what you mean about this session, is there anything left that they can still add a tax too? I think they pretty much got them all now..

They've put a tax on just about everything they can, including gas and the new bridge... Now a tax on our premium satellite channels? Hopefully that bill will die before the session ends on Friday...we can only hope.
