Dish Networks Team Summit is now in the history books, and only SatelliteGuys brought you to the show, with our exclusive LIVE coverage of the events! And now that the sho is over and we are back home and settled again and have a working capture card for grabbing video from our DISH receiver, here is our Wrap up video of things shown on the Expo floor.

A very big THANK YOU to everyone who donated to make this coverage possible. Besides reporting on things we had a lot of meetings with DISH executives and are very excited about the future with SatelliteGuys and DISH!

Thank you for your patience and support! Thanks for being SatelliteGuys!

Very nice! Great job, Scott!

I do have a question. I noted that Xi Hua mentioned that you used a 54 remote with Hopper+/Joey4. Does that mean that a 40 remote or Harmony type remote will not work? I know that many of us use these other remotes because we don't much care for the 54 remotes.

This is correct, while older remotes will work with them for the most part some things will not work. DISH is really pushing the voice search as one of the big features of the Android TV platform as the voice search will search not only the stuff on your Hopper, but DISH on Demand and through all your apps as well such as Netflix and Disney +.

My wife was a die hard DISH 40 remote user and refused to use the 54 remotes, until some feature of the 40 remote did not work anymore on the Android Platform, so she was forced to use the new remote to which she was not happy about, however now I think she is now happier with the54 remote now that she has gotten use to it.

While I know Harmony remotes are not being sold anymore, I would hope they would update their database so that you could continue using your Harmony Remote. with the new boxes. But in thinking about it I honestly don't know if the new DISH boxes support IR, I may have to go dig an old Harmony remote out and try it out.

I must admit, I have been using the voice remotes for a few years now. and I can probably count on my two hands the number of times I have used the voice function of it. However my kids it's one of their most widely used features. Maybe I am just getting old... but I never think about using the voice feature, I am just set in my ways.

Will the 4K output from the Hopper+ work on a non-HDR 4K TV?

Yes although you won’t be able to watch HDR content on that TV a pop up message will say your tv is not comparable with the content.

But 4K from sources like YouTube and others will play fine.

A follow-up question: Do you know if the 50.0 remote is fully supported, since it is also a voice remote? I am about to get a 50.0 remote, and I might like to try this out.

I would also be very interested to find this out. Thanks for checking.

I believe it does work with a 50.0, I think I have a few of them. From memory they just do not have the Google Logo on them, but work the same.

I think the 50 remote is a bit different than the 54 remote. There are several versions of the 54 remote. The original 54 didn't have the Google logo but later ones did.

do you have any idea if the Control4 integration will remain with the new android devices?
I believe so. It is in my menu on the Hopper Plus. (But I don't have any control 4 equipment to test it.)

When the Hopper plus becomes available, will I be able to use PIP and Multiview to see apps. As more sports will be using apps , it would be nice to have some apps in the Multiview. Right now I cannot use Multiview to see any apps. I tried seeing 301, 302, and 371 in one of the Multiview quadrants and it shut Multiview down.

No. No multiview or PIP. However I am told PIP is coming. No word on Multiview.
