Temp Move TX to WA

I have been a Dish customer for 10 years. Currently have a 722 with 1000.2 dish. Subscribe to America Everything pkge with locals and gold HD ($117.98 incl TV2 receiver conection).

Will be moving from San Antonio, TX 78216 to slightly north of Oroville, WA 98844 for 6 months. This 'rotation" back and forth is permanent, Apr to Oct each year.

The WA location does not have a view of 110, 119, but I believe I can get the new 129W as shown at the Satellite Dish Pointer website. Rather than go to a dish pause situation, I will set up the 1000.2 for the 129W which I believe is within the beam from what I have checked at this site.

Is this possible? Do I block the other 2 LNBs? What pkge should I downgrade to on a tempory basis for the 129W? Locals will be sourced from cable provided.

If, and a big if, I can get the Condo Assn to allow a dish to be installed that will pick up 110 and 129 the cable run will be above ground over 120 ft. What line booster is recommended? Another option was to feed into the cable providers distribution centre which will still be providing the locals and internet.

120 feet is well within specs. No boost required. The sat signal would have to be diplexed with the cable feed for line sharing to work. The only programming on 129W is natinal HD programmimg, RSNs, and locals. You will lose the national HD programming on 110 if you can only receive 129. I guess you would probably use one of the Turbo all-HD packages for programming. If you can only get 129, you only need to point the dish and dual or single LNB at that one sat. Have you had E* do a site survey to see whether they can get all sats or not? E* allows you to change your service address back and forth like you would have to do, but you have to take the receiver(s) back and forth with you. I think I would just get my HD from cable while there if you can't get LOS to the satellites and put the home account on pause.

Charter is the only cable provider in the area and their service is awful. As far as I understand it they offer no HD whatsoever.

Maybe you could get service from whoever provides cable to Osooyos.

Slighly more North. Got overpriced/expensive , ever increasing, poor quality, socialist northern cable for local news. The very few HD channels cost a mint.

It will require more than 120 feet. I do travel with the 722 in a box. The List shows all the channels on 129W??

Yes The List tells all. I would definitely have E* see if they can get you a LOS to all the sats. The spec for cable runs is 200 feet but in reality it can be somewhat longer and still work without a boost with DishPro hardware. Have you looked into D*. Maybe you can get a better LOS with them.

E* will not visit to do a LOS. I am on the first floor of a three story condo building facing West. The South view is limited by the building extending approx 100 ft.

Without 119 you will not get updates, will you?

110, 119, and 129 will all be west of due south for your location. If your picture is due south you have a shot at all three of the satellites. 110W should be around 230 or so on the compass I would guess. Go to Satellite Finder / Dish Pointing Calculator with Google Maps | DishPointer.com and enter your address to get your angles and points. You can mount the dish to a tripod and the tripod to a concrete paving stone and put it on your deck/patio if they won't allow it to be strapped to a patio rail. You can also poll mount the antenna into a 5-gallon bucket of concrete.

The LOS line for the 1000.2 goes down the west side of the building as seen in the first picture (not due South). It was iffy. I then had an installer try to get a signal to no avail (we strapped the dish on a post temporally)

Plan to use the pole or tripod method for 129W.

Building blocks 110W. I believe that I am within a spotbeam. Subscribe to the locals in San Antonio, TX. How do I get the locals in the snowbird location?

You have to call E* and change your service address to your WA location.
