DISH NETWORK TO ANNOUNCE U.S. TOWN RENAMING ITSELF 'DISH'

ENGLEWOOD, Colo., Nov. 14, 2005 – A U.S. town has accepted the challenge to re-brand itself as part of the DISH City Makeover and rename itself "DISH." DISH Network will announce the name and location of the town on Wednesday, Nov. 16. DISH Network President Michael Neuman and the mayor of "DISH" will be available for questions during a conference call live from the town of "DISH."

About DISH City Makeover: DISH Network introduced the DISH City Makeover as part of recent re-branding efforts and a new advertising campaign trumpeting "Better TV for All." DISH Network launched the campaign this fall and received many entries from around the nation. The selected town will receive 10 years of basic satellite TV programming, including equipment and standard installation in every household.

I can see it now, "I live in Dish now"! Imagine all of the mail mixups. At least Dish Network knows where you live. Maybe DirecTv and cable would too.
 
The local news here (Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX) said the council of Clark, TX (Denton County) was going to vote on it tomorrow.

The funny thing is, the town of Clark is doing it just to spite their former mayor/namesake.
 
That's what I heard too LER. Sucks that it's so close to here....

Doesn't DISH do the TV Sucks commercials? :D
 
I wonder if that town has locals available to them. How about those that previously had the service and it got shut off because they did not pay their bill? How about those currently in a contract with DirecTv? Does the town not have cable (probably not because of how low the population is).
