I installed my BUD in 1984 and have used it continually since then. My wife was against the idea of installing the dish. However, the first day it was working she realized that there were a dozen or so movie channels and spent the next two days in bed watching HBO. I know she watched Steve McQueen in “The Verdict” at least 6 times start to finish.
Thanks to your brilliant help, I was able to make the conversion with minimal effort.
The only real shock I had was when I discovered that the “OWN” channel is the “Oprah Winfrey Channel”. The horror!

Thanks, crackt - my final successful step was your suggestion (to someone else) that I remove X4, unplug and then re-install X4.
That worked like a charm.

very happy X4 customer here....my 4DTV guide has never worked so well...Thanks to all the guys and folks who went out on a limb to make this work. I could not bring myself to signing any longterm cable or small dish contracts. everything is just too shakey right now.
