Do like most do and have a DVR and a HD receiver. Later as the cost comes down for a combined HD DVR get that. In the meantime, enjoy two receivers.

Guest, you could get a ReplyTV, but I think that dmodemd meant that you could use your current DVR (501, 508. 721) along with the 811. You would have to pay for the extra receiver, but you would be able to watch HD and still be able to have the same functionality that you have now.
