Wow, and I do mean WOW! An amateur tied for the lead on the 3rd day at 10 under!!!

Gotta love it, and I would like to see an amateur win an Open, either British or US.

Just got better! He now has the outright lead at 11 under!

Dunne finished the 3rd day tied for the lead. Last time that happened for an amateur was 1927 by Bobby Jones. Just amazing golf from an amateur that really doesn't have the background that would lead you to believe he could do this!

IF he could win, he would be the 2nd amateur to win the Open. Who was the first? Bobby Jones in 1930!

I was playing some golf this morning so I've missed the earlier coverage. Where is Dunne, the amateur now?

I did see that the American amateur is at 12 under.

Nerves got to him. He was done before hitting his first very bad tee shot. +4 on the day last I looked

Yeah, I finally found something about it. I was really hoping for an amateur to win this and the US Open in my lifetime.
