The rein of the New Orleans Aints is over! The defending Super Bowl champs can't even beat a sub 500 team. Who Dat! Nice run by Lynch to seal it, the NO defense looked like a bunch of amateurs
Defended their title like the 2008 NY Giants did, didn't they? Pitiful. Helluva run by Lynch, but if the Saints had put a little more effort into trying to tackle the guy than going for the strip, they might've stopped him. That sealed their fate for sure.

The last time a defending Super Bowl champion won a playoff game the following season- the 2005 Patriots (after they won back-to-back Super Bowls, they beat Jacksonville 28-3 while trying for a threepeat. Alas, they came up short in Denver the following week 27-13).

Since then:

the Steelers missed the playoffs following their recent Super Bowl titles

the Colts and Giants lost their first playoff game the year after winning the Lombardi

today for the Saints

Injuries the year after their Super Bowl wins were key factors in all of these teams performing poorly in the playoffs the following season. Gotta have your best at 100% to win the big one.

Jets win.

That sets up the AFC East Rubber Match of the Century!

(If Baltimore wins tomorrow, CBS gets two picture-perfect AFC battles next week)

It's only fitting that the four best teams through most of 2010 will compromise the AFC Final Four.

The AFC Divisional Playoffs will be MONSTEROUS next weekend!!!

The AFC Championship Game is guaranteed to be a rematch from this season......

CBS is drooling a river right now (the AFC Championship Game for them is a no-lose scenario. All 4 possibilities are potentially awesome.)

I want to play for this coach.

Jerry Sloan resigns?!
