I'm just posting this to say that I'm not going to watch it. Queen Latifah playing the "Wizard of Oz" only sealed the deal for me NOT watching the Wiz.

Where can you find the original Wizard of Oz movie Starring Dorothy Dwan and Oliver Hardy from 1925? All I find available is the REMAKE / Reimagining from 1939.

Well, I did watch The Wiz Live and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was riddled with technical errors and flaws, but the vocals, music, dancing, costumes were great.

I did watch it. The performances were between competent and great, but the sound mixing was some of the worst I have experienced. I mean, when Mary Blige can't be heard over the orchestra, really?

Were you listening on a 5.1 DD system without any effects? It sounded pretty darned good to me!

Yes. DD5.1. The chorus and secondary singers sounded good. The primary singers were down 3-6dB, especially Mary Blige and Dorothy.
