In early April, Manvel (Texas) High junior wide receiver Gary Haynes told Rivals.com, "I'm really working on my speed right now. Like my straightline speed, like track speed. That's why I'm running track."
Less than a month later, Haynes' offseason work appears to be paying early dividends, as the unranked Class of 2015 recruit showed off his blazing speed by throwing a 50-yard pass to himself in a Vine post.

Come on, this doesnt even remotely look legit.

Heard of Rivals?

If you mean before they acquired them, then the sports site launched in 1997.

So they've been at it a while.

My point was, every Tom , Dick and Harry are Reporters now.

TMZ is the same way.

Apparently anyone with a Cell phone is now a reporter.

That's true, and this was from a blog. Terrible that this made it to not only front page of the sports section, but front page of Yahoo period.

That said, Yahoo has one of the most visited sports pages in the net.
It's generally where I go first, especially for college football news.

If they let stuff like this go through, maybe less and less likely

If they do that people quit coming to the site for news. Fewer hits, less traffic. Less ad revenue.

They won't start speculating significantly for that reason alone.
