Not sure how DMM's reliability has been for a while now (I stopped buying from them nearly 5-7 years ago myself) and it almost sounds like they were circumventing QA processes as laid out by AMD/ATI. Even though 15k - 30k of stock is a drop iin the bucket compared to the overall number in supply. But leave it to the media to likely overblow this and create unneeded mass hysteria to the point it may "accidentally" kill off a few companies.

I dont see the media blowing this up, if it wasnt for this unknown news agency called TG then I doubt we would hear about it.

Thats kind of what I was talking about; its really a non-issue, a simple minor recall or sorts for a fraction of the total released; but someone's website needed a story and seem to be trying to make it a huge deal. IMHO.
