I reported this in the Dish price increase thread. TWC is also increasing the TV fee to 2.75. So its 5.50/mo just watch.

If Time Warner Cable wants to charge for sports channels and local broadcast channel those channels should be optional. That way if you do not want to pay the fee they can just deauthorize the channel on your cable box, cable card, and or digital tuning adapter. Since all the cable companies are all going to encrypted digital anyways in the United States.

The TWC modem rental is also increasing to $8/mo.

The sports surcharge seems like a sleazy way of hiding a rate increase. Going back to my request for a no sports package option for $10/mo less.

i don't get the sports package but it appears we have to pay something toward it so others can keep their costs in line. makes no sense. its only 2.75 but you get nothing for it.
