Timer problem

Hi. I have a VIP211 and my automatic timers have stopped working. I restarted my machine and did a hard reset to no avail. Any other suggestions I should try? Thanks in advance

Is your guide current? try running switch test to refresh the guide. Hopefully this will get your timers working again

If that doesn't work, try canceling the timers and set them up again.

Are you using this as a single-tuner dvr to record to an external harddrive? If so, are you SURE your drive hasn't gone belly-up, or maybe got unplugged so the timers can't work?

If not, deleting and redoing the timers would seem to be the next logical step easy enough to try out.

My mom's having the same problem with her 211K. It seems the guide forgets the timers whenever it shuts itself off for an update. The timers still exist on the list, but not on the guide, and the receiver doesn't change the channel when it's supposed to.

She contacted tech support this morning, and their answer was pretty much that they'd send the report to the techs, and should be fixed in a future update.
