Current situation:

A VIP211K hooked to a HD TV and a 20 year old Sony stereo (RCA jacks) in such a way that you can listen to music w/o the TV being on.

A VIP222K sitting above a SD TV, hooked to a newer JVC stereo that has at least S-video that also by passes the TV for music, and a HD TV downstairs working off of the UHF side of the box. Its that way b/c I couldn't figure out how to get a signal to the the stereo upstairs with the 222 attached to the HD TV downstairs without having the the TV on.

1. Does any know how I can put the 222 with the HD TV and be able to play the stereo which is upstairs without having to run the TV?

2. Would going to a Hopper with Joeys (preferably wireless) work?

3. I know the Joeys have HDMI but do they have connections for older equipment?

The one up stairs would be attached to a SD TV and stereo whose most advanced connection are S-video .
The Hooper would be connected to a HDTV and the Sony that has only RCA jacks.

I know I have old stuff but it works.

Thanks,

The Joeys have composite (red, white, yellow outputs) I had a Joey hooked up to my older Toshiba for a few years and it worked well. When I upgraded that TV, I simply changed out the composite for HDMI.... There is no S-Video on either the Joey or Hopper....

Edit: the Joeys have optical out...

I'm so glad I switched from Dish to DirecTV last year...
