they told me when i did the dvr activation for a 211k that the same fee would also activate the EHD feature for our 612s. IDK if this is true so wanted to double check because at first the CSR said I could not activate the 211k because it was not a dvr. Anyway the DVR of the 211K is working great and was thinking of getting an external hard dirve to archive things on the 612, would be great if what the CSR told me was correct and I do not have to pay another fee.

The 211(k) and 6xx/7xx VIP series have separate fees and different storage plans on EHDs thus a copy from one to the other will not work despite the charge. The 612 is a VIP.

If you have user-defined groups, they will not carry across because they do not exist on the EHD. They will have to be recreated and refilled. The only groups that carry over are the same-titled programs.
