I'm trying to find the azimuth and elevation for the Dish Network satellite(s) from my area. DirecTV has a great page for this on their website but I can't find the same info for Dish.

I live in NY, zip code 12449. Can anyone point me to the info. I'd rather check to see if I have any trees in the way before I waste an installer's time.

Hi, you can use dishpointer.com to find the info for each satellite. Just enter your street address and then look at the eastern arc satellites 61.5, 72.7 and 77 west.

BTW - the little X on the map can be dragged to any spot in your yard so you will be able to check very carefully.

You could also check the western arc satellites if there is something in the way of the E.A. Look at: 110, 119 and 129 west.

Hope this helps, DC

From Kingston it would be very hard to see 129.

To the OP: The EA dish would be aimed almost due south for you but you would need to see the sky a bit to the SSE and SSW as well as you would be looking at the 61.5, 72.7 and 77° birds.

Yes, I had looked at DishPointer but didn't know which satellites Dish uses. The 61.5, 72.7 and 77° look great for me. I simply don't want to sign up, start the machine rolling, and find out I'm defeated by one evergreen across the street.

Does Dish use all three of the those birds at once? I'd want HD and locals.

Yes all 3 are in use at the same time. You may or may not need to be able to see all 3 (for now). Since both 61.5 & 77 or primarily for locals. Since you are EA on dish pointer use the multi-LNB for the 1000.4 dish.

Excellent. I hadn't seen those Multi-LNB items in the DishPointer menu. Thanks a million. I've been a cable customer my entire life. Dish looks great, I just hope I don't end up with a case of dish regret.
