I have had DirecTV for several years. Within the past couple of weeks they shut off PBS. In order to get my local channels I was told that I had to purchase a newer dish (which arrived today). It has the triple feed, multi satellite LNB. Can I simply connect the cable to any of the four connectors and I'll be ready to go? What else do I need to do? My receiver is really old (one of the original RCAs). Do I need a new receiver as well?

You can use that old receiver, but it will NOT see anything that is on 110/119, so it will NOT get your local channels. Normally, D* also offers to upgrade any non-multisat receivers for free - maybe you should call back & ask them about this. (they normally tell you this at the time you order a triple dish)

You should have gotten a free upgrade from Directv including installation for your local channels. Directv will also upgrade your receiver free so you can receive the additional satellites.
