tv tuner plays dish unclear and laggish

i just got the kworld 330 and when i connect to the dish receiver, it isn't that clear and lags a lot. had a usb extendor but when i took it off, it became less laggish but still laggish. i have 4gig ram.

Late last year I bought 3 or 4 el cheapo NTSC tuners for my daughter's PC, and all of them exhibited this problem to some degree. I think 2 or 3 of them were KWorld tuners, which I bought because of a good experience with one of their ATSC tuner sticks. (My ancient Aver Media TV98 never did this.) I'm pretty sure this is caused by buffering in the PC's software player so that it can do trick play (pause, slow motion, ff, etc.) I never got the lag to zero, plus the picture was nothing to write home about either.

I gave up and Dished Up a 612 receiver and plugged that directly into my daughter's monitor. The bill went up $12/mo, but at least now we have a perfect picture.

With regards to lag, it is the result of the "DVR" buffering on the system. Also there is a slight delay due to it running the feed through filters (de-interlace, smooth, sharpening, etc...) and encoding it in MPEG before it shows up on yoru screen so that adds a delay as well.

This is why you can't use a PC to play games from your PS2, Wii, etc...
