tv volume control on pioneer 5070hd

The volume control on my 622 dvr will only increase incrementally. That is, when you try to increase or decrease the volume it will only do so one step at a time, not smoothly. I have tried all the available remote codes for my Pioneer 5070hd. Is this probably caused by an improper tv device code in the remote? Any help would be greatly appreciated.--Thanks

I've had the exact same set up for about 4 years.
The exact same problem also.

I've yet to find a fix.

Perhaps the only fix is to get a receiver and have it do the volume. Since Pioneer is out of the TV business, I doubt there will ever be a fix for this (i.e. new TVs using same programming causing Dish to work on the problem).

I have this same problem with both a 722 and Pioneer 151 and 622 and Pioneer 6010.
