Two instances of the same thread

I replied to the thread "How did you first meet your spouse?" and now there are two threads with the same title. One currently has just the OP's first post ( navychop ), and the other thread has both navychop's and my posts. This is the first time I have seen this happen here.

I also reported the 'double thread' to mods about it to merge them together
I've seen it happen before. It is duplicate post from the original thread creator

I couldn't figure out how it happened. If I deleted one, I feared the whole thread would disappear.

If you delete it, it is only soft deleted meaning one of us can restore it if it deletes both of them.

I have seen this happen a few times over the years but there is no rhyme or reason for it.

Highly unlikely as the two posts were timestamped two minutes apart.

When that two thread thing happens to me, I copy one of the post to the clipboard on my laptop. If both threads disappear when I delete one, I start a new thread and then paste the copied post. Comes in handy if you have a long post.
