How do I find out what my dish coordinates are?
Under settings it says something about scanning local channels. Will I benefit from doing this?

No. You want to go into the Point Dish screen, which IIRC is menu 6-1-1. You can select a D500 for 110/119, or a D300 for the others. Recent dish antennas such as the 1000.4 are not represented in firmware. For that, try http://dishpointer.com

Scan local channels is for antenna, if you have one hooked up will put your locals on the reveivers.
