Which will give me a better HD picture, AT&T U-Verse (soon to be offered) or satellite? (E* as new D* receivers do not have antenna inputs which are needed as they think Connecticut is part of New York City as for receiving locals).

Once at&t changes there encoding I think your best bet would be at&t but I am sure other will chime in. I have Dish network now and am somewhat happy with it it's not true HD but what do you do...

I meant DirectTV as to not having OTA inputs on their most current receivers. They both think Connecticut is part of New York.

The only part of CT that is in the NY dma is Fairfield county. Directv and Dish both know that. They don't think the rest of CT is NY, I can assure you. The HR20-100 is still available, as is the HR20-700 at my local Costco. The H20-600 is also there. I am talking about the Waterbury CT Costco.

I am in Shelton, CT so I only have access to the New York locals.

But my real question is a comparison between Uverse vs. satellite HDTV?
