ugh... Customer Service, any suggestions?

I moved into an apartment while my new home is under construction. I am unable to have Dish, so I simply want to place my account on hold.

I called Monday, and the CSR was unable to do it, even after spending 40 minutes on the phone with her, when she kept saying 'One Moment Sir, while I update your account', in obviosuly taught English (That was her response even when I started to get angry and frustrated and asked her other questions off her script..... gotta love those India call centers) At least she 'thanked' me for calling Dish Network....

So, I call today and try to do the same thing, this time the CSR told me he couldn't do it because the 'System is updating', and I had to call back later.

How hard can this possibly be? Any suggestions as to how I can make this simple request happen?
