Unable to scan sat

My Veiwsat extreme will not function using the USALS. I am able to go into the antena setup and move from one satellite to another by selecting the USALS mode, then the move function, but when I exit the setup the dish automatically moves to the home position and will not move to a selected channel. I am unable to to use the f3 funtion to move the dish. The only way that I can select and scan a sat is to go to the USALS motor mode move the sat and change to installer mode and scan the sat, but I can only select one sat. The USALS function was working and stop. I have reset the unit to factory defaults and flashed the unit with the latest file, but the result are the same, the USALS mode will no function outside the installation mode.
