Unable to View HD channels

Help! We have not encountered any problems for the past couple of years, but all of a sudden, the TV screen for all of the HD channel programs (including those stored in my DVR) goes completely black. The sound is playing, but the TV screen is blank. If I switch to a non-HD program, the TV picture and sound is fine. It's strange that it's only affecting the HD programs. Does anyone know what the problem is and how I can fix it?

It is probably a software glitch. Have you tried unplugging the receiver for 10 seconds and let it reset itself?

Definitely try rebooting. It sounds like a bug in the L627 update that I experienced a few times a couple months ago. See the Sticky thread.

This.. Mine did it the other day and just a soft reset (holding down power button for 10seconds to restart) fixed it.

I had the same thing happen to me twice. I did a reset as suggested in the previous post and it fixed it.

The very first thing one should do when they have "odd" problems, is soft-reset (hold power button for 5 seconds, or press red reset button.) If that doesn't fix it, then it should be unplugged from the power source for about 15 seconds, and re-plugged. If that doesn't fix it, call DISH.
