We now have a perfect picture, just needed a little adjusting. 
We ordered the DTV Pal DVR from Dish and it works like a charm. The only problem is the guide says 'No information available' except for what is coming on that day. Not a major problem and we can certainly live with that. It does what we need, it records all the shows my husband isn't always here to see.
So far no regrets about canceling Dish. Not much was on that we really watched except some shows on the locals. The only one we can't get is ABC but it's no big loss. We spent about 150.00 with shipping for the antenna and 249.00 for the Dish PalDVR.
We are saving 89.00 per month (Dish) and got rid of the home phone (59.00) because we have cell phones which helps us a lot in this economy.
We just wanted to Thank everyone for all the help you gave us while changing over from Dish to an antenna. You were all so sweet!
