Ok, my current situation. New customer about two years ago and leased a 522 with a Dish 500. Last November I purchased a 942 (when I was unsuccessful in obtaining one to lease) only to have the 622 come out soon after. I also returned the 522 at that time. I now do want to upgrade to the 622 and a Dish 1000. What's the best way to do this?
Scenario #1 - pay $199 to Dish, get the $100 rebate plus $100 credit for returning the 942. I believe I would also get a Dish 1000 this way (as well as installation for the 1000), so cost $0. Cons are that I will be leasing again, will have an 18 month commitment, and it feels like I'm out quite a bit of $$$ on the 942.
Scenario #2 - purchase a 622 and Dish 1000 from a retailer - around $500 for 622 and $90 for the 1000. I'd probably still want the 1000 professionally installed (unless it's easier than I think it is). So, cost > $600. But this also allows me the opportunity to sell my 942 for at least $200 (seems to be average on eBay) plus no commitment or minimum programming packages.
Are there any other scenarios that I'm not thinking of? Right now I'm leaning toward Scenario #2, but am open to suggestions.
