upgrade from HD to HDDVR

I currently have a 2 room system with an HDDVR and an HD receiver. I tried the MRV and it is basically unusable with HD. I'm trying to figure out if anyone knows what to say so that I don't have to pay 200 bucks to go from HD receiver to another HDDVR. I don't want to add a 3rd room, just want to somehow change the HD to HDDVR. Anyone with ideas to help?

Not going to happen. Best your going to get is an discounted HD-DVR unless you put on a great song and dance for the cancelation department and even then probably still only discounted and not free.

How long have you been with them ?
Have you checked the D* website under equipment to see what they are offering you at the time ?
You won't get a FREE one, but possibly discounted.

I called in and was talking to a guy about swapping one like you are and they gave me a quote and I was online at the same time and found that they were offering me one for $ 99, which is much better than what I was quoted $ 149 by the rep.
I mentioned that to him and he said Yes, I could get it for that, he hadn't seen that yet on my account and apologized ....
I haven't made the move yet, but think I will soon.

I upgraded a few weeks ago. The best I could get was $30 off + free Super Fan. Not as good a deal as I had hoped for but I was ok with it as I would have purchased SF anyway.

I got mine for $99 just by sending D* an email. That was in June.

As far as MRV goes, I only had an issue ONLY once. A reboot of both HD DVR's fixed it. Go to the CE forum and post your issues and setup. We might be able to help you fix it. It could be a network issue.
